Künker sale 353, lot 3504

This specimen was lot 3504 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1764, B, Breslau. Mit glattem Rand. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön. Erworben am 10.3.1989 von Wolfgang Rittig, Schwelm. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one twelfth thaler of 1764, Breslau mint, with plain edge. Planchet flaws, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-71 in large quantities at several mints altho nice specimens are scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 3.34 g, 0.437 fine silver, this specimen is 3.51 g.
