Künker sale 353, lot 3515

This specimen was lot 3515 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €240 (about US$334 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1764, C, Cleve. Winz. Zainende, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Spezialsammlung Brandenburg-Preußen aus norddeutschem Privatbesitz, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 60, Osnabrück 2000, Nr. 4249. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one twelfth thaler of 1764, Cleve mint. Minor clip, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-71 in large quantities at several mints altho nice specimens are scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.

Specification: 3.34 g, 0.437 fine silver, this specimen is 3.52 g.
