Künker sale 353, lot 3557

This specimen was part of lot 3557 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), which sold for €320 (about US$439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/24 Taler a) 1/24 Taler 1764 A, Berlin. Prägung für die Mark Brandenburg. Mit breitem Monogramm. Erworben 1969. 3 Stück., Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, 1/24 thaler of 1764, Berlin mint, struck for the mark of Brandenburg, with broad monogram. [One of] three pieces, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-66, 1769, 1781-86 in large quantities at several mints altho nice specimens are scarce.

Recorded mintage: 6,311,304.

Specification: 2.07 g, 0.222 fine silver, this specimen is 1,56 g.
