Künker sale 353, lot 3534

This specimen was lot 3534 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €180 (about US$251 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1764, E, Königsberg. Fast vorzüglich. Erworben am 10.3.1989 von Wolfgang Rittig, Schwelm. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one twelfth thaler of 1764, Königsberg mint, about extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-72 in large quantities at several mints altho nice specimens are scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 3.34 g, 0.437 fine silver, this specimen is 3.74 g.
