Künker sale 353, lot 3520

This specimen was lot 3520 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €130 (about US$181 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1764, D, Aurich. Sehr schön. Erworben am 1.6.1974. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1764, Aurich mint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck 1764 only at Aurich.

Recorded mintage: unknown but somewhat common.

Specification: 3.71 g, 0.375 fine silver, this specimen is 3.51 g.
