Künker sale 353, lot 3698

This specimen was lot 3698 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €45 (about US$63 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Ku.-1/4 Stüber 1765, D, Aurich. Prägung für die westlichen Landesteile. Leicht korrodiert, sehr schön. Erworben am 30.11.1980. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, copper quarter stuiver of 1765, Aurich mint, struck for the western provinces. Lightly corroded, very fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-67 at the Aurich mint for use in East Friesland.
