Künker sale 353, part of lot 3537

This specimen was lot 3537 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,253 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Reichstaler preuß. 1765, F, Magdeburg. Berliner Typ. Überdurchschnittlich erhalten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, thaler of 1765, Magdeburg mint, Berlin type. Double struck, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at the Magdeburg mint 1764-67 but is very scarce.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 22.27 g, 0.750 fine silver, 37.5 mm diameter, this specimen is 22,13 g.
