Künker sale 353, part of lot 3621

This specimen was part of lot 3621 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €300 (about US$418 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. ...b) 18-Gröscher 1765 E, Königsberg. Prägung für die Provinz Preußen. Großer Kopf. 2 Stück., Sehr schön +. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, 18 groscher of 1765, Königsberg mint, struck for the province of Prussia, large head. [One of] two pieces, very fine or better.)"

This type was struck 1764-65 and is the last of the denomination. It was officially struck for East Prussia but likely also circulated in neighboring Poland.
