Künker sale 353, lot 3549

This specimen was lot 3549 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €110 (about US$151 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1766, F, Magdeburg. Berliner Typ. Schrötlingsfehler, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Berliner Münz-Cabinet 10, Berlin 1979, Nr. 3212. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1768, Magdeburg mint, Berlin bust. Field marks, about extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-72 at Magdeburg and Konigsberg and is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.

Specification: 3.34 g, 0.437 fine silver, this specimen is 3,64 g.
