Künker sale 353, lot 3502

This specimen was lot 3502 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €200 (about US$278 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1766, B, Breslau. Berliner Typ. Vorzüglich +. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one sixth thaler of 1766, Breslau mint, Berlin type. Extremely fine or better.)"

This type was struck 1764-70, 1780 and 1786 at Berlin, Breslau (shown here), Cleve and Konigsberg.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.

Specification: 5.35 g, 0.521 fine silver, this specimen is 5,09 g.
