Künker sale 353, lot 3495

This specimen was lot 3495 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €85 (about US$118 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/2 Reichstaler preuß. 1767, B, Breslau. Sehr schön. Erworben im Jahr 2000 von Manfred Olding, Osnabrück. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, half thaler of 1767, Breslau mint. Very fine.)"

Half thalers were not a common denomination in Prussia. This type was minted at Berlin, Königsberg, Breslau and Magdeburg 1764-67 and is somewhat available.

Specification: 11.13 g, 0.750 fine silver, this specimen is 10.96 g.
