Künker sale 353, lot 3750

This specimen was lot 3750 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €100 (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. Kreuzer 1766, B, Breslau. Prägung für die Provinz Schlesien. Berliner Typ. Dunkle Patina, kl. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön +. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, kreuzer of 1766, Breslau mint, struck for the province of Silesia, Berlin type. Dark toning, minor planchet flaws, very fine or better.)"

This type was struck for Silesia 1764-65. The kreuzer, a hold over from Austrian rule, was struck there until 1797.
