Künker sale 353, lot 3593

This specimen was lot 3593 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €8 (about US$11 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/24 Taler 1764, F, Magdeburg. Prägung für die Mark Brandenburg. Schön-sehr schön. Erworben am 5.5.1984 von Wolfgang Rittig, Schwelm. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, 1/24 thaler of 1764, Magdeburg mint, struck for the mark of Brandenburg. Fine to very fine.)"

This type was struck 1764-66, 1769, 1781-86 in large quantities at several mints altho nice specimens are scarce.

Recorded mintage: 2,765,131.

Specification: 2.07 g, 0.222 fine silver, this specimen is 1,62 g.
