Künker sale 353, lot 3789

This specimen was lot 3789 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €320 (about US$445 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/24 Taler 1763, B, Breslau. Prägung während des Siebenjährigen Krieges. RR Fast vorzüglich. Erworben am 25.10.1994. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, 1/24 thaler of 1763, Breslau mint, struck during the Seven Years War. Very rare, about extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1753-57 and 1763. This is an unlisted date. The year 1763 marks the first year of peace after the near-disastrous Seven Years' War.
