Prussia 1752-F 2 mariengroschen
This specimen was lot 3706 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €60 (about US$84 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 2 Mariengroschen 1752, F, Magdeburg. Prägung für die westlichen Landesteile. Mit leichter Verprägung. Sehr schön +. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, two mariengroschen of 1752, Magdeburg mint, struck for the western provinces. Weakly struck, very fine or better.)"
The denomination was struck only at Magdeburg and this was the first issue since 1706 (KM 66). It is not priced in the SCWC. Four and one mariengroschen (KM G268 and KM E268) were also struck in 1752. A similar coin was struck at the Aurich mint in East Friesland. One thaler equalled 36 mariengroschen.
