Künker sale 353, lot 3457

This specimen was lot 3457 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €25 (about US$35 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1752, F, Magdeburg. Schön-sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Galerie des Monnaies 25, Düsseldorf 1981, Nr. 319. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1752, Magdeburg mint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck in large numbers at several mints 1750-55. Many varieties exist.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a scarce date.

Specification: 3.34 g, 0.437 fine silver, this specimen 3.68 g.
