Künker sale 353, lot 3403

This specimen was lot 3403 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €30 (about US$42 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1752, A, Berlin. Sehr schön. Erworben am 2.2.1990 von Udo Gans, Arnsberg. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1752, Berlin mint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck in large numbers at several mints 1752-55 and 1763. Many varieties exist. The armored bust type (KM 251) was also struck at Berlin in 1752.
