Künker sale 353, lot 3398

This specimen was lot 3398 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €340 (about US$473 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1752, A, Berlin. R Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-sixth thaler of 1752, Berlin mint. Very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type, with the bare bust of the king, was struck at several mints 1752-59, 1763-64. An armored bust type (KM 252) also exists for 1752.

Specification: 5.35 g, 0.521 fine silver, this specimen 5.29 g.
