Künker sale 353, lot 3395

This specimen was lot 3395 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €160 (about US$223 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1752, A, Berlin. Prachtexemplar. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-sixth thaler of 1752, Berlin mint. Choice example, about uncirculated.)"

This type, with the armored bust of the king, was struck at several mints 1750-55. A bare bust type (KM 269) also exists for 1752.
