Künker sale 353, lot 3443

This specimen was lot 3443 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €400 (about US$557 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1753, D, Aurich. Kl. Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Berliner Münz-Cabinet 10, Berlin 1979, Nr. 3124. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-sixth thaler of 1753, Aurich mint. Minor field marks, very fine.)"

This type was struck at several mints 1750-55. Many varieties exist. This is an unlisted date in the SCWC.
