Prussia 1753-G 8 gute groschen
This specimen was lot 3458 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,000 (about US$2,784 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 8 Gute Groschen 1753, G, Stettin. Mit zwei Spontonspitzen über dem Helm. Von großer Seltenheit. Kl. Kratzer, sehr schön +. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 370, Frankfurt/Main 2001, Nr. 3052. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, eight good groschen of 1753, Stettin mint, with two halberd tips over the helmet. Very rare, small dings, very fine or better.)"
This type was struck 1753-59, 1763. Tall and short busts were struck simultaneously but not normally at the same mint at the same time. This specimen is clearly the short bust variety but the SCWC lists this date only with the long bust.
