Künker sale 353, lot 3671

This specimen was lot 3671 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €100 (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 18-Gröscher 1753, G, Stettin. Prägung für die Provinz Preußen. Sehr schön. Erworben im März 1969. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, eighteen groscher of 1753, Stettin mint, struck for the province of Prussia. Very fine.)"

The eighteen groscher and the accompanying three groscher and six groscher were used in East Prussia and the neighboring parts of Poland. This type of 1751-54 was the first of the denomination minted since 1718. This is the only date for Stettin.
