Prussia 1753-B 1/12 thaler
This specimen was lot 3429 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €380 (about US$521 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1753, B, Breslau. Mit FRIDERICVS BORVSSORVM REX in der Vorderseitenumschrift und kleinem Kopf. RR Fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 9, Dortmund 1997, Nr. 529. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1753, Breslau mint, with "FRIDERICVS BORVSSORVM REX" in the obverse legend. Very rare, about extremely fine.)"
This type was struck in large numbers at several mints 1750-55. Many varieties exist.
