Künker sale 353, lot 3448

This specimen was lot 3448 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,809 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1754, E, Königsberg. Veränderter Kopf. Von größter Seltenheit. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 20, Dortmund 2002, Nr. 555. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-sixth thaler of 1754, Königsberg mint, revised head. Extremely rare, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at several mints 1752-59, 1763-64. Many varieties exist. This is the key date for the bare bust type.

Specification: 5.35 g, 0.521 fine silver, this specimen 5,94 g.
