Künker sale 353, lot 3438

This specimen was part of lot 3438 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), which sold for €160 (about US$220 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler a) 1/12 Taler 1751 C, Cleve. Erworben am 13.3.1972. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1751, Cleve mint. One of two pieces.)"

This type was struck in large numbers at several mints 1750-55. Many varieties exist.
