The first specimen was lot 3420 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €150 (about US$209 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1750, B, Breslau. R Vorzüglich +. Exemplar der Auktion Berliner Münz-Cabinet 10, Berlin 1979, Nr. 3131. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1750, Breslau mint. Rare, extremely fine or better.)"

The second specimen was lot 3423 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €360 (about US$501 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1750, B, Breslau. RR Min. Schrötlingsfehler, fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 64, Osnabrück 2001, Nr. 4084. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1750, Breslau mint. Very rare, minor field marks, about extremely fine.)"

The third specimen was lot 3424 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €100 (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/12 Taler 1750, B, Breslau. Größerer Kopf. Mit FRICERICVS in der Vorderseitenumschrift. RR Schrötlingsfehler, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion Westfälische Auktionsgesellschaft 8, Dortmund 1997, Nr. 429. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-twelfth thaler of 1750, Breslau mint, larger head, with "FRICERICVS" in the obverse legend. Very rare, field marks, very fine.)"

We show here three very different varieties of this denomination, struck at Breslau in 1750. In 1750, the mints were reorganized and the mintmaster's initials dropped in favor of mintmarks (A = Berlin, B = Breslau, C = Cleve, D = Aurich, E = Konigsberg, F = Magdeburg and G = Stettin).

Recorded mintage: 4,567,068.

Specification: 3.34 g, 0.437 fine silver, the first specimen 3.51 g; the second specimen 3.36 g; the third specimen 3,67 g.
