Prussia 1750-B 1/6 thaler
The first specimen was lot 3411 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,619 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1750, B, Breslau. Von großer Seltenheit. Fast vorzüglich. Exemplar der Slg. Manfred Olding, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 10, Osnabrück 1988, Nr. 45 und der Auktion Schulten + Co. Köln, Oktober 1990, Nr. 1907 (dort falsch beschrieben). (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-sixth thaler of 1750, Breslau mint. Extremely rare, about extremely fine.)"
This mantled bust is not shown in the SCWC. The second specimen was lot 3412 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,253 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1750, B, Breslau. Brustbild ohne Ordenskreuz. Von größter Seltenheit. Feine Patina, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Spezialsammlung Brandenburg-Preußen aus norddeutschem Privatbesitz, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 60, Osnabrück 2000, Nr. 4216. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II the Great, 1740-86, one-sixth thaler of 1750, Breslau mint, bust without order cross. Extremely rare, fine patina, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1750-55 at several mints.
