Sincona sale 23, lot 2114

This specimen was lot 2114 in Sincona sale 23 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 700 CHF (about US$879 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Brandenburg-Preussen, Markgrafschaft, 1417 Kurfürstentum, 1701 Königreich, Friedrich II. 1740-1786 1/2 Friedrich dor 1751. Berlin. Sehr schön-schön. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II (1740-86), half frederick d'or, Berlin mint. Fine to very fine.)"

This half friedrichs d'or traded for 2½ thaler. It was issued in various styles 1749-86.
