The specimen shown is one of a series struck 1844-52 at the Guadalupe y Calvo mint. That mint struck all the silver and gold denominations used during the republic, from the 1/4 real to the eight escudos. None are common, tho the gold tends to appear more often than the silver.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 27.07 grams, 0.875 fine gold, .76 troy oz AGW.
