This specimen was lot 72297 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1848-Go PM. Guanajuato Mint. NGC AU-58. Pleasantly toned and only lightly handled, this near-Mint specimen still retains some hints of brilliance emanating from the protected areas." Two assayers exist for this date; assayer PM is scarce and assayer PF is slightly scarce.
