from the Stack's Bowers June 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72297

This specimen was lot 72297 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $312. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1848-Go PM. Guanajuato Mint. NGC AU-58. Pleasantly toned and only lightly handled, this near-Mint specimen still retains some hints of brilliance emanating from the protected areas." Two assayers exist for this date; assayer PM is scarce and assayer PF is slightly scarce.
