This specimen was lot 72300 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $244. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Real, 1860/59-Do CP. Durango Mint. NGC EF-40. Finest of three examples graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Alamos, Oaxaca and Real de Catorce did not strike this type. The Durango mint struck one reales 1832-37 and 1841-64 and a number of dates are rare. Assayer CP (Carlos de la Peña) is listed for 1853-73. No regular date exists for 1860.
