The first specimen was lot 2801 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $402.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Oaxaca. 8 Reales, 1860-OaAE. Eagle of 1859-60. Weak center strike, cleaned. FINE." The second specimen was lot 73335 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $3,360. The catalog description[2] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1860-Oa AE. Oaxaca Mint. NGC AU Details--Tooled. KM-377.11; DP-Oa04. Die style of 1859-60. A striking example for this RARE date, featuring bold detail and deep cabinet toning. The noted tooling is easily overlooked, as the coin is overall eye-catching and bold. This sought-after type is seldom seen this attractive, and should not be overlooked." This date is scarce to rare.
