The Culiacan mint struck half escudos 1848-70 and is one of the abundant mints for that denomination; most dates are common. This specimen was lot 31672 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $881.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic gold 1/2 Escudo 1860 C-CE, MS61 NGC. Nicely struck details with toned luster. Very appealing."

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.875 fine gold, .047 troy oz AGW.
