This specimen was lot 72093 in Stack's Bowers June 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2026), where it sold for $244. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Real, 1860/59-Do CP. Durango Mint. NGC EF-40. Second finest and highest numerically graded of four examples in the NGC Census. Boldly struck with dark toning. Planchet crack at 5:00 on obverse. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Reales Minors." Of the fourteen mints of the Republic of Mexico, only Oaxaca and Real de Catorce did not strike this type. The Durango mint struck half reales 1832-34, 1837, 1841-64 and 1869 and quite a few dates are rare. Assayer CP (Carlos de la Peña) is listed for 1853-73. No regular date exists for 1860.
