This specimen was lot 21189 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Escudos, 1842-GoPM. PCGS EF-45 Secure Holder. Lightly circulated with even wear and appealing overall color. Nice rims." The Guanajuato mint struck eight escudos 1825-70 and is one of the abundant mints for that denomination; most dates are common. Assayer PJ also exists for 1842.
