This specimen was lot 31194 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $481.75. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Republic 8 Reales 1842 Go-PM MS63 NGC, Guanajuato mint. Quite exceptional metallic purple toning along the periphery of the coin, giving this a rather exceptional look. Vibrant and bold, this piece is surely worthy of a premium bid." Assayer PM is listed for 1842-48. Assayer PJ is also listed for 1842.
