The type was struck at Durango 1832-69, with assayer RM listed for 1832-48. This specimen was lot 8124 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. Durango. 1/2 Real, 1842/32-DRM. "1/2 R over 8 R". RARE variety. NGC MS-65." The SCWC notes this ½ over 8 error and the 1842/32 overdate. The majority of Durango issues from the 1840's have some kind of overdate.
