This issue from the Culiacan mint is priced about 50% more than a common date from the Mexico City mint. The Culiacan mint issued copper one centavos 1874-77, 1880-81 and 1897. They are not rare in circulated condition but only the 1897-CN is available in uncirculated. It was also the only branch mint to issue the small size centavos. The mint closed in 1905.

Recorded mintage: 142,000.

Specification: 8 g, copper, 25 mm diameter, reeded edge.
