Steve Album sale 54, lot 3239

This specimen was lot 3239 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $90. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO: Republic, AR 8 reales, 1880-Zs, assayer JS, weakly struck centers, lustrous, XF-AU, ex Bob 'Swamperbob' Gurney Collection." This late date from the Zacatecas mint is common.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW, this specimen 27.04 g.
