The first specimen was lot 72274 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1880/76-Mo M/B. Mexico City Mint. PCGS MS-66 Gold Shield. An unusual and clear overdate. This lovely little Gem exhibits a bold strike, prooflike surfaces, and a faint magenta tone." Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Alamos, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Potosi, Guadalajara, Oaxaca and Zacatecas.

Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.
