Ponterio sale 159, lot 9229

Shown is a balance scale fifty centavos, of a type struck 1869-1895. This issue from Zacatecas is common. This specimen was lot 9229 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $207. The catalog description[1] noted, “MEXICO. Zacatecas. 50 Centavos, 1880-ZsS. Toned. NGC AU-58.”

Specification: 13.54 g, 0.903 fine silver, .393 troy oz ASW.
