from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 71120

This specimen was lot 71120 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $600. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1869-Go S. Guanajuato Mint. NGC MS-64. Second finest of just three coins graded at NGC. A trace of light toning. Evidence of die clash on reverse. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." This is a rather scarce date of a series struck 1869-81, 1886-97 at Guanajuato.

Recorded mintage: 80,000.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, 14 mm diameter, reeded edge.
