Mexico 1869-Zs YH 8 reales

from the Stack's Bowers 2020 NYINC sale, lot 23264

This specimen was lot 23264 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it sold for $336. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1869-ZS YH. Zacatecas Mint. NGC MS-64. Finest known certified by NGC or PCGS. A highly lustrous crown with a splash of almond peripheral toning." The Zacatecas mint was a prolific mint for eight reales and produced them 1825-97. This date is common and assayer YH operated 1868-74.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.903 fine silver.
