This type was struck at Culiacan 1846-69, with assayer CE listed for 1846-58 and 1863-69. This specimen was lot 8120 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $287.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Culiacan. 1/2 Real, 1869-CCE. UNCIRCULATED." An error noted for the date is in the denominator of the fraction; it shows 1/1 insted of 1/2. Similar mistakes are recorded for 1858, 1861 and 1863. Culiacan as a whole is a less common mint tho not rare. By 1869, all the mints were supposed to be striking decimal coins.
