Steve Album Auction 53, lot 3310

This specimen was lot 3310 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "SPAIN: Fernando and Isabel, 1474-1504, AR real, Toledo, ND, initials M - T flanking obverse shield, Fine." Cayón lists catalog numbers 2727 thru -2750 for the Toledo mint; Cayón-2737 has the assayer initial M on the left. Altho Cayón attributes this to 1497-1504, it is quite likely that it was struck for some time thereafter, perhaps until the accession of Charles V in 1516.

Specification: 3.38 grams, 0.931 fine silver, this specimen 3.36 g.
