Aureo y Calicó sale 447, lot 1109

This specimen was lot 1109 in Aureo y Calicó sale 447 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 120 € (about US$157 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Catholic Monarchs. Burgos. 1/2 real. MBC/MBC+ [very fine or better]." The Burgos mint struck this fairly common type with twelve different privy marks. On this example, there is a six pointed star on the yoke side and a parsley leaf on the reverse, next to the cross. Other mints included Granada, Toledo, Seville, Segovia, Cuenca and Coruña in a multitude of varieties.
