Aureo y Calicó sale 448, lot 127

The first specimen was lot 1112 in Aureo y Calicó sale 447 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 130 € (about US$170 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Catholic Monarchs. Toledo. 1/2 real. Name of the Monarchs on obverse and reverse. Fine example. MBC+ [very fine or better]. Ex Isabel de Trastamara collection 12/13/2018, no. 1234." The second specimen was lot 127 in Aureo y Calicó sale 448 (Barcelona, March 2025), where it sold for 140 € (about US$183 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted, "Catholic Monarchs. Toledo. 1/2 real. Transposed legends. Nice. EBC- [about extremely fine]. Ex Aureo 12/17/2008, no. 192." The Toledo mint struck this fairly common type with seven different privy marks. On this example, the "T" mintmark is surmounted by five dots. Other mints included Granada, Burgos, Seville, Segovia, Cuenca and Coruña in a multitude of varieties.
