Shown are two specimens of the 1888GaS five centavos, of a type struck 1877, 1881, 1886-93. This issue from Guadalajara is a common date. The two specimens show the "large G" and "small G" varieties. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Mexico City, Alamos, Oaxaca and Potosi.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.

Recorded Mintage: 262,000 (all varieties).
