Mexico 1888-Cn M 10 centavos

from the Stack's Bowers sale of the Kirk Menczer Collection, lot 71269

This specimen was lot 71269 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2025), where it sold for $288. The catalog description^[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1888-Cn M. Culiacan Mint. NGC MS-64. Tied for finest of just three examples graded by NGC. From the Kirk Menczer Collection of Republican Decimal Minors." This is a somewhat scarce date from the Culiacan mint, which struck this silver ten centavos 1871-73, 1881-82, 1885-96. Culiacan also struck the ten centavos with the redesigned eagle 1898-1905.

Recorded mintage: 56,000.

Specification: 2.70 g, 0.903 fine silver, 18 mm diameter, reeded edge.
