This specimen was lot 73413 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 5 Centavos, 1888-Go R. Guanajuato Mint. NGC MS-66. A razor-sharp and reflective Gem." Shown is an 1888GoR five centavos, of a type struck 1869-1897. This issue from Guanajuato is a common date. Other mints include Hermosillo, Culiacan, Durango, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Mexico City, Guadalajara, Oaxaca, Alamos and Potosi.

Recorded mintage: 320,000.

Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, .786 troy oz ASW.
